Use your common sense. This especially applies for when you are searching for a market to get into and you are doing your keyword research. The keywords that you target should be great converters. But how do you know? You can never know until you try but having that judgement for choosing your niche will be a powerful skill that develops over time. Running an online business is not successful so much with numbers and set rules. But with common sense which relates to my next affiliate strategy.

Think outside the box. I will give you a very powerful example for this one. If you decided to promote something like diet programs then of course right away you would want to target people searching to lose weight. But instead of setting up a site about weight loss, which is something you could definitely do as a back up, what if you targeted that audience from a different angle. If it was weight loss then you could build a site about a topic that slightly related to that like cooking or food. I have actually had success with this because if you really think about people who love food then they light also want to lose weight.

Do not get too anxious. I know there have been countless marketers claiming to have made millions in months or some actually have and have shown proof. But you need to crawl before you can walk. Do not go for keywords that are too competitive because there will be so many sites that have strong rankings like authority sites that have been around for years. Google ranks sites based on a number of factors like the age of the site, keywords (of course), and backlinks.
