What's LinkShare, And Do I Need To Use It?
Likewise, affiliate marketing is an excellent way to generate full-time income for a home-based affiliate marketer. For someone who is jaded of going through a grueling eight-hour work routine, affiliate marketing offers a great opportunity to earn big without wearing himself out—physically, mentally and emotionally.
In affiliate marketing, both parties are benefited since as the merchant earns from each item sold, the marketer likewise earns a commission.
If you are interested in affiliate marketing but are finding it hard to look for affiliate programs, affiliates or merchants, you can start by checking sites of various affiliate networks. Many affiliate programs in the Internet are being offered through an affiliate program network, which acts as a link between the merchants and individual affiliates.
Among the most popular is LinkShare, it is through it that merchants and affiliates meet. LinkShare maintains and manages affiliate marketing programs for a great number of merchants with various kinds of businesses, products and services. It also has over 6,000 affiliate site members in its network. It gains profit from the set-up fees, monthly account maintenance fees and commissions.
Joining networks like LinkShare can be of great help in establishing your online marketing business. Whether you are a merchant or an affiliate marketer, you need to research well on your partners in order to choose the best for you.
LinkShare provides the facility of acquiring access to a large network of advertisers (merchants) who offer their affiliate programs to publishers (affiliates) who are willing to promote their products. In the same manner, it gives the merchants access to a large network of affiliates who are searching for affiliate marketing opportunities.
LinkShare is especially beneficial for an affiliate in choosing his partners since he can find his options all in one location. It would be easier for him to compare products, commission rates and other benefits given by the merchant. The merchant usually just waits for interested affiliates to sign up in his affiliate marketing program but being in the network increases his chance to promote his products to a larger market, thus, maximizing his potential to gain huge profit.
To help you decide whether to use large affiliate networks such as LinkShare or not, let us try to look deeper into its positive and negative sides. The primary advantage of LinkShare to you as an affiliate is convenience.
As earlier mentioned, you find different pieces of information about your choices simultaneously all in a single location, so you save time and effort looking for affiliate programs or merchants.
It's also easier to track your business partner's performance through monthly reports and statements, as well as its sales and commission rates, so you know whether the affiliate program is still worth continuing. If you have signed up for several affiliate programs, you can check all your statistics for each merchandiser you are affiliated with by logging in just once.
LinkShare helps you manage and maintain all records of your visitors' click-throughs and sales transaction. It takes care of your commissions and gives it to you monthly in lump sum. Especially when you have more than one merchant partner, it would be easier for you to manage your accounts and track your earnings when you are affiliated through a marketing program network. Furthermore, every information you get is accurate and secured, so you are protected from all the risk you might encounter. Above all, you can enjoy LinkShare's benefits for free. You just have to go to their site and register your website. Instantly, you get access to a great variety of affiliate programs available for you.
So, what's on the negative side? Although, it is indeed helpful to join affiliate marketing networks such as LinkShare, there are some disadvantages, too.
For one, merchants offer lower commissions to affiliates who partner with them through the third party program network. This because they still have to pay for the use of service and the technology provided by LinkShare.
Direct partnership with the merchant cuts costs of advertising through the network and so the affiliate has bigger potential to earn more. Moreover, it is possible that your payment may be delayed for a month or more since program networks would pay you only after the advertiser or the merchant has paid them. Do you need to use LinkShare or other networks? It depends, actually. You can opt for direct partnership with the merchant, but this choice is not applicable all the time. There are a lot of merchandisers who offer their affiliate program only through affiliate program networks and thus, you have no choice other than joining the network to get into the affiliate marketing program.
So you are faced with "take it or leave it" situation. But LinkShare and other program networks are not that disadvantageous. After all, whether you join it or not, earning big would depend more on your promotional strategies and persistence.

A Home Business And What It Takes To Begin One
Enjoy.
Author: chuckster43
So you would like to start your own business at home? Have you seriously thought about what that entails? There are a great many things that should be taken into consideration before to taking on that responsibility. And yes, I did say "responsibility".
Starting off, you need to understand a few things. It will take drive and determination to become successful. You will require a dedicated space, have a daily work plan, have a "business product" or a "service" that you will be marketing, and have the money and the determination to get it off and running.
Let us begin with the "work space". Is there an area of your house, basement, garage, or somewhere, you can utilize for your business where you can be alone and not interrupted on a regular basis?
Family, most usually children, see that you are home and it must be time to play. Many others, such as your wife, neighbors, family take it for granted you are home and must be "available" just cause you are there. You are saying, "No, that's not going to happen". Perhaps it won't, but it can present bigger problems than you can think of at the moment. Everyone needs to see what your goals are in order for this to work..
It will require a quiet "space" that is comfortable and fits in with what you actually are doing. If it's computer work, you need a space large enough to fit you and your equipment comfortably in. It is important that YOU are comfortable! YOU need to like it!!
Of course it should be well lit, be adequately supplied, and if possible it should be off by itself as much as can be done. After all - you are at work, remember?
Then comes that work plan. Yes, you are the one in charge now. But you know what? The work still has to get done and now ONLY YOU are finishing that work! So if you are getting up later, taking TV or coffee breaks, all work has stopped. That is right - CEASED! Haven't forgotten have you? - you are IT.
Now you must define the length of the day, when you begin, and when to quit. If you can't define your parameters, you won't last long. Sure there will be days you need work longer or less, just as in the job you have now. There will always be limits, but now YOU are setting those on yourself!
Now we come to the service or product your business is selling. You can be selling something that you have or have made yourself, or selling someone else's product. That makes no difference whatsoever. There is most certainly an abundance of products to sell here in the web. Or you could sell a "service" such as writing, teaching what you know best, or any number of things.
Lastly, we come to time and money. Anyone out there have an abundance of cash? Most of us would have to answer "No" to that. So what then? Assuming you are still employed, you can start doing this "business" part time.
You take your plan, set aside the time when you can do all we have talked about already, and get to work! Now here is where the word "grit" came from cause you will need it, but you can do it! There will be times you want to quit, but that is when you really need to put your head down and keep it going. Why do you think most people work for someone else? No one said it was going to be easy...
All this is going to take what is most of us are not willing to part with - TIME. Sure, we all want to own a business and we all want to be the boss. We all want most of the money. Are you ready to give most of yourself to accomplish having your own business, are you really?
Many more things can be said here, but they are not nearly as important as these. But I can say that I have started four businesses and can't describe the personal empowerment you get from having done so. You can always find a mentor, self help books, video's and now e-Books that can be of assistance.
Right now I will give you an e-Book if you will sign up for it so I can mail it to you. Just go to the link, find the e-Book listed as "Highly Effective Articles" and I will send it right away to you. I wish you much success in all your searching for bigger and better things!

The 3 Essential Functions Of Every Great Internet Marketing Business
Ready?
To start an internet business- or any business - successfully, you must be able to do three things:
* Develop a product that people want to buy or sell other people's products as an affiliate marketer.
* Figure out how to sell your product at a profit or make money with other people's products or services.
* Push yourself and everyone else on your start-up team to get the first two things done before you run out of money.
To make that happen, you must have three distinct personalities on your start-up team:
* A thinker
* A marketer
* A pusher
The thinker's primary job is to come up with new ideas. He must understand the psychology of the market. He must know who your typical customer is, what he likes to buy and why.
The marketer's primary job is to understand the mechanics of sales and marketing. He must know all the details - and pay attention to them.
The pusher's primary job is to be pushy. He must be goal-oriented and willing to take on the responsibility of making the thinker and marketer do their jobs.
In an ideal world, every new business would be launched by three people: a thinker, a marketer, and a pusher.
But in most cases, new businesses are started by one or two people. And that means one person must do the work of two or three.
You might have a good marketer who is a so-so idea man and is trying to run the business himself. Or a talented product developer who partners with a good marketer but has no one to do the day-to-day pushing. I know of one business that has neither a good marketer nor a good idea person. It gets by - barely - but only because its CEO keeps pushing inexperienced people to make mostly mediocre efforts.
Imperfectly balanced start-ups can succeed so long as all the people at the top recognize the work that needs to be done and work hard. Subscribing to great newsletters with tons of content helps shorten the learning curve to success.
But don't lose sight of the three essential jobs that need to be done and the different personalities those jobs require. Ignore them at your peril.

Why SEO Is Becoming Necessary
The day of the catalog is long gone. No longer can companies get away with having a purely physical presence in the marketplace. By that I mean that any company that thinks a catalog, a billboard, or some television advertisements are a sufficient marketing strategy are clearly mistaken.
It's not like the internet is something new, but still there are companies out there who don't understand the power it has in our society. Some of them believe that it is still just for kicks, and others just plain don't see the business possibilities it could have for them.
While these companies were busy focusing on other, older methods of advertising, the market began to change around them. If they have insisted on doing business as usual, they have surely been shaken by this new wave of online consumers that have changed the business landscape. These people no longer use the internet for fun and games. They do all their business online because of the convenience.
Thankfully, many of these businesses have recognized the need for creating an online presence. Most likely they have witnessed their competitors receiving more business from online sources, and they have felt urged to compete in a like manner. The problem is that no one knows about their brand new website when they set it up.
It is not enough to just create a business website and hope people will buy things from it. You need a little something called SEO, or search engine optimization. SEO will help your website be seen by the people you want to see it. With an advantage like that, you can beat out your competitors who don't have it.
There are so many SEO services that it would be hard to explain them all to someone not familiar with them. Basically, they include building links so that other sites and consumers will have a better chance of finding your site. Also, making the site's code cleaner is an important part of getting it ranked higher.
SEO is not a magical process that guarantees you the top spot in Google every time. Your success with SEO depends on how competitive your industry is, how much you are willing to spend, and how much time you are willing to give your SEO company. Obviously, the more time and money you spend on it, the better results you will get, but you have to decide what it appropriate for your business.
I guarantee you will be hearing more about SEO in the future. SEO services will become even more important as the web grows and as businesses need that competitive edge online. It might be in the best interest of your company to investigate SEO and decide when you will need to implement it into your business strategy.
With that popularity of the internet, SEO has turned more popular than ever. The many SEO services done by a recognized, reputable SEO firm will definitely give you success. .

5 Tips To Launching An Online Business
1: Optimize your website for search engines. Many shoppers do not go past the first page of results in a search engine, and almost none go beyond the second. If you are not near the top of the Google results for your type of business, no one will be able to find you. Consider hiring an experienced consultant to optimize your website for you. However, research search engine optimization before hiring someone. You will want to have a very clear understanding of what they will do for your site, without getting lost in confusing technical jargon.
2: You have to be able to wait. You can't go into any type of business and expect to become a millionaire overnight. It does happen, but it happens so rarely that it is almost impossible. If you get frustrated easily and don't like to stick to things without quick results, don't even pursue it. It takes a long time for most businesses to get up and running efficiently, much less turning a huge profit. If you break even at first, that's success.
3: By education, I don't mean you need to go to school before you start up (even though this would be helpful). I mean you should do your research. Do it thoroughly! Don't just glance around at a few tip articles like this and decide you are ready to go. You should know very well what you are getting into and what it takes. This will keep your head above water should something unexpected arise. If you learn everything you need to know, you wont be taken off-guard.
4: You should know what product or service you want to sell before starting. The best thing to do is figure out what you would think would go over well for the demographics in your area. Then expand from there. If it will work well demographically for you, then will it work well in larger areas? Is this product something that people will want or need? If so, will they want or need more than one? Will they need to buy the product several times from you? Write all these things down, and make an educated decision.
5: Perform SEO, or search engine optimization on your site to increase your presence on the web. The majority of buyers will visit websites that appear on the first three pages of search engine results. You can hire a professional or do this yourself. Link or associate yourself with complimentary services to maximize exposure and ensure your success online.
All you really need to know is that if you do your research, know your product will work, have the time and determination, then it could be great for you. You should also be ready for disappointment, as well. The most important thing is, be sure to make a solid, educated decision before starting your online business.

The Easiest Way to Start an Online Business
If you've caught the Internet entrepreneur bug, you probably can't wait to get started making money with your own website. Of course, you're going to need a few things first - namely, products and effective sales copy to sell them.
But while you're working on your products and sales copy, there is a way to start bringing money in the door almost immediately. I'm talking about becoming an affiliate marketer.
As an affiliate marketer, you make a commission by selling other people's products via your website. And they make it easy for you by providing both the products and proven marketing copy (such as banner ads and sales letters).
Your affiliate business can be up and running in a flash - and it requires very little in the way of start-up costs. All you really need to pay for at the beginning is your website domain and a website hosting service.
While working as an affiliate, you'll hone marketing skills that you can use to make your "real" Internet business even better... if you decide to go ahead and launch it. Like many affiliates, you might make so much selling other people's products that you never get around to creating and selling your own.
[Ed. Note: Affiliate marketing does have its own particular techniques - methods that can result in 7-figure or higher paydays. And there's no better way to learn them than in person, from Early to Rise's affiliate program manager, George Dahir, and Web marketing manager, Edwin Huertas. You can join George and Edwin this July in Denver for ETR's Super Affiliate Summit.

8 Secrets to Fill Your Business in 60 Days
Recently I was asked in an interview to imagine that I was starting all over again, and as a newbie, how I would fill my business in 60 days. Things have changed tremendously since I began my online business in 1999, mostly for the better. Most of the steps, however remain the same. Best of all, the strategies I recommend to fill your business are the same ones that can be applied to any business, and then applied again and again to other online ventures. Here are 8 secrets to filling the prospect funnel in your business in 60 days:
1. Success mind set. Don’t gloss over this strategy — it may be the most important of all. If you truly want to succeed in your business and are passionate about what you do, nothing will hold you back. This often means that you have to step out in faith that you’ll succeed, and most importantly, believe in yourself as a success. Sure, you may stumble, or even fall, but you must be willing to pick yourself back up and persevere — even without a safety net hanging under you.
2. Target market. The biggest mistake that business owners make is wanting to sell to everyone. If you’ve tried this, you have no doubt discovered that casting your net around everyone is a very difficult task. Narrowing that group to a more manageable number will actually serve you much better, believe it or not. If you can identify a smaller group of hungry prospects who are willing to pay for the solutions to the problems that keep them awake at night (or those who are willing to pay for more information about a hobby or interest that occupies much of their free time) AND who are reachable in groups (associations, membership sites, magazines, newsletters, discussion forums or lists, social networking groups, etc.), then you have made a key discovery that will catapult your business forward.
3. Client Attraction Device. You’ve heard it said time and time again that “the money is in the list.” This still holds true today, as well. Without a list of interested prospects to whom you can market, you don’t have a business. The quickest way to begin to develop a list is to give something away. Yes, you heard me correctly. If you have content you have already created, dig through that to see if you have something appropriate for your chosen target market.
If not, identify a problem of your target market, and create some content that answers one of those problems. Perhaps it’s a checklist, a Top 10 list, an ebook or special report, an audio interview, a pod cast, a video — do whatever is easiest for you. Just ensure that it is in a plug and play format , i.e. don’t make your prospect download some weird software that’s not commonplace to read and view this material.
Make sure that your Client Attraction Device has some valuable content in it. Nothing is more frustrating to me than to read a free giveway that only serves to remind me that I have a problem and offers no solution unless I pay for it. Don’t be afraid to demonstrate your expertise by giving “how to” information away. Trust me, if you are truly good at what you do, there’s no way that you can share everything you know on a topic in one short information product. Your Client Attraction Device starts your prospects on the like, know, and trust road that is imperative for them to travel before they will decide to buy something from you.
4. Email marketing system. You must have some way to collect your prospect’s information and a system by which you can stay in contact with them. The best way to do this is by purchasing email marketing services. Do not use a free service for this, nor try to send emails out of your Outlook program. If you want to be a serous online business owner, invest in the most important asset in your business — your email marketing system.
5. Blogsite. A blogsite, which is a web site/blog hybrid, is the quickest way to build an online presence. The two most popular blogging platforms, the fee-based Typepad and open source software Wordpress, can be used to create a blogsite very quickly. If you want either of them customized with a particular look or feel, that may take a bit longer and require a greater investment. However, either will work well to get you started, and both will permit you to enter your email marketing system’s signup code onto a page so that you can immediately begin to collect contact information from prospects who have requested your Client Attraction Device.
6. Stay in touch. Whether you do this by submitting regular blog posts or publishing an email newsletter (or both), you need to reach out and touch your prospects at least weekly (or several times a week if you are blogging). Give them some insights about what’s happening with you personally as well as sharing some aspect of your expertise with them by creating a content-rich article or answering their questions. And, don’t forget to sell — offer some product or service in each email newsletter, or submit regular blog posts that remind your readers about what you are selling.
7. Social networking. Never before have we had the opportunity to connect with others online easily and inexpensively as we do now with social networking. Create profiles on the social networks) used by your target market, do research to add friends/followers in your target market, and use the status updates to be useful to your followers, i.e. by sharing resources, asking questions, and updating them about how you help clients/customers.
8. Drive traffic to your site. There are a number of ways to accomplish this, but my favorite starts with writing an article. Once it’s written, I publish it in my ezine, my blog, and to my web site and syndicate it on article directories all over the Web. Then I have the option of making a pod cast with the content; creating a screencast video or “talking head” video from it; writing and submitting a press release; creating a teleclass; create a Q&A radio show interview opportunity; breaking up the points as separate Twitter posts, or Tweets, and tweeting them to my followers; or sharing it on my Squidoo lens or other information-sharing portals. The point here is to work once and profit, profit, profit. Repurpose one article as many ways as you can to drive traffic back to your blogsite and thus get more and more prospects to sign up on your list and ultimately convert them to customers.
The advent of the Internet makes it easier than every to create and promote a business online with very little startup capital. And, if done correctly, the strategies will results in you filling your business in 60 days with eager and willing prospects ready to buy what you are offering.

Are You Ready To Start An Online Business?
If you would like to be a bit more secure financially, you may have considered starting some kind of online business. However before you commit yourself to beginning an online income-generating activity or before you give up the idea, it is useful to consider whether it would be the right step for you to take by examining a few important points.
I have been engaged in several online businesses for close to ten years, and based on this experience I would like to present you with three important factors that you should think about before making a decision of whether or not to go ahead with an online business.
1. How much time could you spare for your online work? Don't expect to just open a website and watch the money pours into your bank account without a stitch of effort on your part. There is no such business like that in the world. Even very profitable activities require some amount of work. Examine your current routine and consider how much time you could actually devote to online work. In case you are wondering how much time is necessary, here is a way to make your calculations. The actual amount of time necessary depends on what kind of business it is and what your income needs or expectations are. Let's say you are able to work two hors a day, or about 45 hours per month. If this activity is able to bring in $45 for each hour worked then you could expect a gross income of about $2000 per month. That may not seem like much, but if you already have other income it could come in handy. Or, if that is not enough, maybe you could work more.
2. What do you have to offer online? Before you start calculating your income you have to think about the kind of business that you could possibly run. An easy way to start an online business is to extend an existing "real world" business to the Internet. If you run a retail store, then set up a website and you can extend your reach. Another way to conduct online business is to offer some kind of service that can be delivered digitally or by e-mail. Writers, designers and artists can get into an online business by setting up a website or simply by soliciting work on free-lancer sites or by answering online classified advertisements. If you don't have any physical products or digital services to sell there is another route to online entrepreneurship. Write an information product based on some area of your knowledge and expertise. Turn your knowledge into an e-book, a digital report or an online course and then sell that product online. Many online businesses have been started in this way.
3. Do you have the necessary online business skills? You don't have to go back to school and get a degree but it is helpful to pick up a few skills if you are going to conduct business online. From my experience, it is good to know how to edit web pages. You don't have to know how to design them but it is important to know how to update them. In addition to that, it is useful to have a grasp of the basics of Internet marketing, and by this I am thinking of search engine optimization, pay per click advertising, and article marketing. These three tools can help you to greatly expand your online reach and it is worth learning the basics in this field.
These are some of the things that you have to think about before starting any kind of online business. Take a close look at them, and if you have a good feeling, then go ahead and try your hand at online business.

How to Stop Being a Victim of Online Identity Theft? – Part 1
Many innocent preys of the identity thieves have lost their identities.
As we know, knowledge is the best weapon against becoming the next victim of online identity theft. Just follow some simple tips that I will give you:
1. Use secure servers
When surfing the Internet, make sure you are on a secure or encrypted server. That way, when a hacker or ID thief tries to find you and your computer’s location, they cannot locate you as your ISP and URL are encrypted, or coded as unreadable characters, by your server. Secure servers will filter fraud websites and spam mails before you can access them.
2. Don’t reply to spoofed e–mails
Spoofed mails are e–mails sent to you by certain e–mail accounts, asking for your details, or telling you to reply to their e–mail to do something like verify the details of your credit card account, online account, etc.
These e–mail accounts pose as banks, credit card companies, retailing websites like eBay, PayPal etc., and send you emails telling you to give them your information to get or verify something.
NEVER REPLY TO SPOOF E–MAILS! Remember: Banks, credit card companies, and other companies never ask their client to send their details over the Internet just for verification or claiming a prize or confirming your entry into a raffle draw you have never joined.
3. Don’t open files sent by unknown sources
If someone you have never known sends you a file over the Internet, usually through an instant messenger, or as an attachment in an e–mail, DO NOT OPEN IT!
The file may contain viruses and spying software that will steal your personal information that is in your computer. Besides, opening the file may cause serious damage to your computer even kill it; you'll be obliged to buy a new one.!
4. Properly log into your sensitive accounts
Always log on to your sensitive accounts by opening a new browser and typing the actual URL directly into the address bar. This will help you verify if the URL of the sender of an email is really the website it claims to be.
5. Use disposable e-mail accounts
Whenever you want to join a newsgroup, subscribe to mailing lists, or make online purchases, always use a disposable, free email account.
That way, you can always delete that account if you suspect ID theft. Always keep your business account for business and personal communications.
6. Disguise your online ID
Never use domain names and identities that will give out who you are. For example, if you are Teddy Atlant, do not use teddyatlant@mail.com or tedatlant as your email address and username respectively, especially when dealing with website you do not know.
7. Use leveled and strong passwords
Always have different passwords for your accounts. A password should be different for your personal account, business account, and disposable account.
Never use sequential passwords like password1, password2, password3 etc. that will easily allow others to access your accounts.
Make sure your passwords will be very difficult to guess. Use a combo of letters, numbers, and characters that only you can remember. Never write down a copy of your password. If you must, make sure you keep it in a safe place.
8. Regularly change passwords
Always change your passwords after a short period, let us say, one month. Regularly changing passwords makes if very difficult to access your accounts. It also helps stimulate your memory and creative side.
9. Use credit cards for online purchases
Credit cards are more secure than debit cards due to the security system being used by credit card companies. Besides, disputing fraudulent chargers is easier than recovering funds already spent. Also, use ONLY ONE CREDIT CARD for online purchases.
10. Always check a company’s privacy policy
Whenever you are going to transact business with a company, make sure to check its privacy policy.
Also, make sure to click the logos of the consumer groups posted on their website to make sure that the safety authentication is authentic. Make sure you also know the real online consumer welfare groups before transacting with companies.
11. Always use a secure site when submitting data
Make sure the URL of the site has https:// at the beginning, or has a padlock icon at the address bar before submitting sensitive data.
12. Security Software for your PC
Always make sure that you get the latest security patches for your operating system and internet browser: allow online update.
Also, update your virus databases, and install advertisement and pop–up blockers that will disallow pop–ups from certain websites from appearing on your screen.
I hope that you’ve found this article informative and helpful. I welcome your comments with thanks.
